Let's Play The Colonel's Bequest

I've opted to try my hand at a let's play and I feel the Laura Bow series doesn't get a lot of love, so I shall start there. I'll be posting mainly in the Desudes Brigade's Bukkit forums, but I'll be keeping entries here as well. Partly as a backup, partly as a place to point people who don't want to wade through forum comments in between entries.
That said, let's get under way.

Welcome, folks, to The Colonel's Bequest! Sierra On-line's second go at a mystery game (first at a full on mystery game in the adventure game genre) and one of the series that Wikipedia forgot ( not really).

Colonel's Bequest, despite some frustrating bits, is a pretty good game if you can look past the obvious graphic age and the...specific vocabulary of the parser system. You can tell that a lot of work went into the production of the game from the sprite work, the music, and even mundane atmospheric animations like lamp fires. It's a lot less linear than most of Sierra's adventure games and shares a similarity to Kings Quest 1 and 2 in the sense that it mostly takes place over one big area and doesn't provide much direction beyond the introduction. People that like to explore and don't mind a generous lack of direction and potentially replaying the game to get the full story if you miss something may enjoy this one.
