Chapter 6: A Hole in the Hall

Image
Secret Passage

Image

Image Well, this is certainly new.

Image

Image Better close this. Won't be much of a secret passage if someone comes into the hall and sees a great big armoire swung out with a door behind it.

Image

Image Of course, now I can't actually see anything...except...there's some light over there from those holes.
Image

Image Watch your step here.
Image Shush, you. I'm being careful and there is some light here.

Image

Image So what are these?

Image

Image Ok, it's a room...with a sofa, table, familiar wallpaper...and this was right between our room and that other one wasn't it?

Image

Image Then this is...

Image

Image going to keep me from ever changing in my room.

Image
Image

Image It's not your will, after all.
Image Well, I can certainly talk to Henri about her and those two brats of hers. Maybe I'll see about dealing with Wilbur too. He already gets paid, doesn't he? What's he need to be included for?
Image I don't know. Maybe Uncle appreciates being kept alive?
Image Bah, a small bonus is appreciation. A tip is appreciation. A share equal to us is an outrage!

Image

Image Never mind, Lillian. You and I will never agree on anything!

Image

Image If you ask me, Gertie should have stopped counting as part of the family when John died.
Image Mother...

Image

Image I think that's probably enough of that.

Image

Image Didn't overhear anything I didn't already know, but now I know there are spy holes here.

Image

Image Hang on...was there was a door?

Image

Image Yes, this certainly feels like a door. Leading into our room I expect. So then...

Image

Image Nothing here. Maybe the other side?

Image
Image
Image

Image Here we are. And this room was empty, so it should be safe to try this out. Where is the handle though?

Image

Image Can't find one anywhere. Wait, what's this?

Image

Image There we go!

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

Image Well, that's interesting.

Image

Image Whoever built this certainly knew what they were doing. I wonder if there's a switch on this side too.
Image ...
Image .... Aha!

Image
Image
Image
Image

Image I don't think I'm going to be able to find entrances like that without knowing where the door is to begin with. Not without much more time by myself than I expect to get.

Image

Image Hmm, that's it! I bet this is how Ethel

Image

Image What? Really? It stops here? It can't just stop here! What did she do, climb in through a window?

Image

Image I need to get my mind off it, or I'm going to go insane.

Next time: The spying continues.

Fun fact: This game retailed for $60 when it came out.
